Burgundy wine festivals run from the Saint-Vincent Tournante in a different village each January to the Hospices de Beaune sale weekend in November. In between come open-cellar weekends in villages such as Monthelie and Auxey-Duresses and the Fête des Vins de Chablis in October.

This page covers the events month by month with their published dates, how to reach them from Paris, how estate visits work around them, and what kits, glasses and tastings cost. For the wider region, see Burgundy.

Getting there

The quickest option from Paris is the direct TGV from Paris Gare de Lyon to Mâcon-Loché TGV, in 1 hour 30 minutes. Bus line E links Mâcon-Loché TGV with Mâcon-Ville station.

Direct TGV trains from Paris Gare de Lyon reach Dijon in 1 hour 35 minutes. Beaune takes 2 hours 15 minutes with a change at Dijon, and the fastest TER from Dijon to Beaune takes 18 minutes.

For Chablis, TER trains from Paris-Bercy reach Auxerre-Saint-Gervais in around 1 hour 45 minutes, direct or with a change at Laroche-Migennes. Chablis has no railway station: Auxerre is 20 km away, Laroche-Migennes 32 km and Tonnerre 17 km, so rent a car at the station.

When to go

Estates receive visitors all year, but the Beaune tourist office says some are less available during the harvest, in September and October, and fewer wineries are open in winter, from November to March.

January

The Saint-Vincent Tournante honors Saint Vincent, patron saint of winegrowers, whose day is January 22. It is held each year in a different village, with one appellation inviting the others. The Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin revived the custom in 1938.

Recent hosts were Couchey in 2023, Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny in 2024, Ladoix-Serrigny in 2025 and Les Maranges in 2026. The 83rd edition takes place in Volnay, about 10 minutes from Beaune, on Saturday, January 30, and Sunday, January 31, 2027, from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., starting at 1 place de la Mairie.

Villages decorate tasting stalls, and the two days bring humorous skits, a costumed brotherhood parade, street performers, brass bands, traveling shows and an induction ceremony. The 2027 program previews a parade, a mass and tasting cellars pouring Volnay appellation wines, with food stalls.

March

The 66th Vente des Vins des Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges takes place on Sunday, March 14, 2027, at the Château du Clos de Vougeot, its traditional venue, and is broadcast live on Drouot Live. The sale is held each second Sunday of March after the harvest. The domaine covers 12.4 hectares and makes 19 cuvées. For the town, see Nuits-Saint-Georges.

On March 20 and 21, 2027, the Marathon des Vins de la Côte Chalonnaise runs a marathon, a half-marathon and shorter races on routes crossing around ten villages.

April

The Printemps de Monthelie takes place every Easter weekend in Monthelie, above Meursault. Local winegrowers open their cellars, with wine-tasting walks, free tastings of red and white wines, and musicians in the cellars and streets.

In the Mâconnais, the Printemps du cru Viré-Clessé opens 24 wineries and estates in the villages of Viré and Clessé over an April weekend, from 10 a.m. Entry and activities such as miniature trains, an olfactory trail, tasting workshops and games are free. Parking is free and no roads are closed.

October

The Fête des Vins de Chablis is held each year on the fourth weekend of October, and the first took place in 1949. The 78th edition ran on October 24 and 25, 2026, on Boulevard Tacussel and Place Lafayette, with nearly 50 winemakers presenting the Chablis and Grand Auxerrois appellations.

In 2026, the stands opened on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday brought a DJ set and food trucks on Place Lafayette from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and fireworks, and the Chablis Marathon ran the same day.

On Sunday, guided vineyard walks left at 9 a.m., the Piliers Chablisiens paraded at 10:30 a.m. from Place Lafayette to Château Long-Depaquit, and the induction ceremony followed at 11 a.m. The new vintage is baptized in the presence of two patrons.

Auxey-Duresses holds its village festival on the same fourth weekend of October. Around twenty winegrowers open their cellars, with vineyard tours, tastings, Burgundian specialties and craft exhibitions.

Vignobles en Scène, formerly Fascinant Week-end, is a Vignobles & Découvertes wine tourism weekend along the Route des Grands Crus. It returned on October 17, 2026, with experiences booked online.

November

In the Mâconnais, the Cave de Lugny holds an open house at its cellar in Chardonnay, dedicated to Crémant de Bourgogne, on November 7 and 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. Estate open days that month include Domaine Aurélie Berthod in Pernand-Vergelesses, from November 6 to 8, 2026.

Over that weekend, musical and folk groups play in the streets, and after dark light projections cover the facades of seven Beaune landmarks. A Village Bourguignon fills place Carnot from Friday to Sunday, and the weekend also brings a torchlit parade and a funfair on place Madeleine.

Before you go

  • The Hospices de Beaune auction itself is reserved for professionals. The public follows it live on the place de la Halle and takes part in tastings at estates and wine shops instead.
  • Parking in Saint-Vincent Tournante host villages is limited, so shuttle buses run from surrounding towns, and visitors walk several kilometers on narrow village streets. Beaune station is the only train stop near the 2027 shuttle points.
  • Wine sale tastings in Beaune have limited places, 15 people per session at Château de Meursault and 8 per online slot at Caves Patriarche, and Veuve Ambal tickets are valid only for the chosen day and time.
  • Some Hospices de Beaune gala dinners are for professionals only, and others open to the public on reservation.
  • Spit as you taste, and choose a designated driver if you are driving between villages.
